Hugo is an easier way to set agendas, take meeting notes, and track tasks for your meetings.
1 | adam.ai is meeting management overkill. Hugo is more like what you’re used to.
Both meeting management apps allow you set agendas, take notes, and track tasks. Hugo’s approach is instantly approachable — collaborative documents like what you’re used to, with a powerful set of meeting-oriented features nearby to help.
Adam.ai goes deep, creating a whole new proces with a near-endless amount of configuration. The UI is heavy and full of options — so much so that it would be a burden to use adam.ai for any but the biggest, most-important meetings. You can’t even easily paste in an agenda. Instead, you’ll find yourself creating agenda items one-by-one (and sub-agenda items), assigning them, commenting on them, adding time limits, etc.
2 | Hugo actually organizes your notes
Hugo is calendar-based meeting software, which means that it automatically pulls in your meetings into a calendar view. This also means that your notes and agendas are auto-organized based on information from your calendar, like who is on the meeting invite and what company they are at.
adam.ai is more chaotic, forcing you to create each meeting one-by-one, and then giving you limited ways to organize them, outside of creating something called a “project”. Without careful planning, you’ll find it hard to go back in time to find past notes because of this lack of auto-organization.
3 | adam.ai’s mobile app is a chatbot. Hugo’s mobile app is simply Hugo (as an app).
adam.ai offers a novel chatbot in its mobile app to help you with your meetings, but in practice, communication with the bot requires typing out a lot of the same requests over and over. It’s inefficient and tedious.
Hugo’s mobile app is simply Hugo, in a smaller, more vertical format. It resembles the web app and Chrome extension, and with a few taps, you can easily find and review agendas, take notes, and so forth.
Try the Pro plan with unlimited users for 30 days for free. After your trial, you can upgrade to keep your Pro features, or use the Basic plan for free.
Both Hugo and adam.ai are meeting management apps with free and Pro plans with somewhat similar sets of features in each plan.
Hugo's Pro plan is $6/user/month. adam.ai starts at $5/month for their Pro plan. While adam.ai appears cheaper, much of its value (for example CRM integration) is reserved for its enterprise plan which requires a sales conversation. Hugo includes all of these features in its Pro plan.
No, adam.ai doesn’t have a Chrome extension.
Hugo, on the other hand, offers a mini-Hugo experience that opens as a side panel over any web page. Such a fully-functional Chrome experience is remarkably useful. Our favorite use cases are cutting/pasting data into a meeting agenda, or taking notes while on a meeting in a browser-based video conference like Google Meet. With the Hugo extension, any time something meetings-related pops into your head, just press ALT+H and jot it down.
This is a pretty big difference in the meeting management software comparison.
adam.ai works much better if everyone at everyone meeting is also using adam.ai. In our investigation, we couldn’t figure out a way to share an agenda with non-adam.ai users.
In contrast, Hugo has done a lot of work to make Hugo helpful even if you have people at your meetings who don’t use Hugo now, and may never want to. With easy agenda link sharing, and task tracking even for non-users, Hugo let’s you bring your co-workers on board at your own pace. You can also email and print meeting documents with Hugo if you like.
Hugo also offers shared “spaces” — which are private workspaces shared between two or more companies. You can use spaces to collaborate with customers, clients, and contractors, without worrying about accidentally giving them access to your internal company meeting information.
At this time, neither app supports drawing or handwriting in notes. You can always attach files to your notes, however.

Absolutely. Hugo is the safest place for your meeting knowledge, with investments that support compliance with security protocols like Privacy Shield and SOC2.
